Evan, a high school student, has endured much during his 17 years. At 13, Evan faced violence at home forcing both he and his mom to leave and as a result, were homeless. With no home, Evan and his mom relied on the only local food shelf in their area, Family Pathways.
Family Pathways quickly became a beacon of hope for Evan and his mom. Through the Food Shelf, Evan’s mom was referred to Family Pathways’ Black Dog Hill Emergency Shelter – where they were provided shelter, hope and support for healing.
Because of Evan’s positive experience with Family Pathways, he now volunteers for the Family Pathways’ Thrift Stores and recently had the opportunity to volunteer alongside his friends and classmates for a school event.
Evan loves that he can give back to an organization that embraced him and his mom during the most difficult time of their lives. He said,
Stand by Evan’s side, Donate NowVolunteering for Family Pathways is the least I can do. They saved my life and redirected my destiny.”
