On National Thrift Store Day, we’d like to recognize how your donations of goods and volunteer time have an impact on Family Pathways and our community.
In 2018, we received 127,693 donations at our Thrift Stores. It may have been a carload or a bagful. All donations of gently used goods are appreciated! (If you’d like to view our guidelines so you can ensure your donations are accepted, please see our donations page.)
Fabric can take up to 40 years to decompose in a landfill, while metals can take centuries to break down. Although we do have to dispose of some donated items, we were able to divert 3 million pounds of goods from landfills through sales and recycling of non-salable clothing and metals.
And thanks to the more than 630 community members who donated their time, more than 33,000 hours of volunteer hours were logged at Family Pathways Thrift Stores.
All of this helps our Thrift Stores to fund 55% of Family Pathways’ operating costs.
Thank you for having an impact on our community and environment!
