Parenting Time

Family Pathways provides supervised & monitored parenting time to ensure that children have safe contact with absent family members.

This service is offered as a tool to assist families as they navigate difficult times and transitions. Often court–ordered, supervised & monitored parenting time supports the noncustodial parent/child relationship and keeps families connected.

Trained to assist parents, foster parents and children, Family Pathways staff provide a comfortable experience for all involved and promote a fun, positive, and safe environment for the children. We stand apart from other providers in our field by offering one trained staff member per family, allowing for exceptionally detailed documentation and greater attention to the dynamics of the visit.

Different from other service providers, Family Pathways hosts private, quality family time. We have six permanent Parenting Time Centers in Cloquet, Cambridge, Forest Lake, Mora, North Branch, and Sandstone – benefiting parents and children with a quiet space not shared with other families. This approach lets children and families unite in uninterrupted and confidential space.

Services We Offer

Safe Exchanges
Gives parents/guardians and their children a safe, stress-free, and encouraging place to carry out a custody exchange. Often utilized for weekends and holidays.

Virtual Visit
One party will come to our facility, while the other party remains in their home. We assist with this virtual visit, while we continue to observe, document, and re-direct and intervene if needed.

Monitored Visits
Visits will take place in a controlled environment of our facilities. The visit monitor will remain in the facility and will check in on the family periodically to ensure the visit is going well. Monitored visits occur when there is no immediate danger to the children. Documentation will be minimal and will summarize their check in’s.

Supervised Visits
Visits will take place in a controlled environment. A visitation monitor will always be present. The family must always remain within sight and hearing of the visitation monitor. The entire visit will be documented. The visitation monitor will intervene when needed. The visitation monitor can also terminate the visit if needed, upon providing warnings for violations of our service agreement. Supervised Visits will occur when safety is a concern for any participants or is court ordered.

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday 8:00 am–8:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday 8:00 am–4:00 pm
Holidays closures – Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

We are open for other federal holidays but will close earlier than normal business hours. Visits may occur depending on resources available. Additional fees may apply.

Visitation Schedules

Times and days are set upon prior to initial service.
The day/time will be confirmed and agreed upon by all parties.
The length of each visit may vary based on the referring agency’s recommendations.

Rates

Costs are reasonable and vary by service and location. Services are available for private pay families on a sliding scale in Carlton, Kanabec, and Pine Counties.
