Thrift Store Silent Auction Directions and Rules
- Each item has a Bidding Sheet. The Item’s Number, Starting Bid, Minimum Increase Bid, Description and Estimated Value will be at the top of the page.
- If you are the first bidder, your bid needs to be at least the amount of the listed Starting Bid. Any bids starting below the listed Starting Bid will not be considered. All Items will be given a “Buy It Now” price unless otherwise noted on the bid sheet. A customer can pay that amount at any time during the auction and take that item with them that day.
- If someone else has already placed a bid be sure your bid is increased, at minimum, by the listed Minimum Bid Increase amount. Any bids below the Minimum Increase Bid will not be considered.
- No call-in bids will be accepted.
- The value listed is an estimate of the Fair Market Value. Items have not been appraised unless noted on the bid page. All Items are sold as-is. Family Pathways has attempted to describe items correctly based on the information available. All items have been looked up through various methods to try giving the best-educated price of the item’s worth. Bidders will be expected to read the fine print included with bid sheets for any restrictions, exclusions, etc.
- The Auction ending date is on the front of the Bidding Book. The Auction usually runs for two weeks, beginning and ending on a Saturday/Sunday at the indicated time or unless the “Buy It Now” price has been met and the customer wishes to take the item immediately.
- On the ending date at Auction closing, the Bidding Book will be closed and no more written bids will be accepted. Staff will monitor the book during the last few minutes of the Auction to ensure that no one person controls the book in order to manipulate the outcome of the ending bid.
- Calls will be made to the winners within three days after the close of the Auction. All items must be paid for and picked up within three days after the call is made. Any items not picked up within the three day grace period will be handled by the manager to make a determination of pricing or Re-Auctioning of said items.
- Winning bidders who fail to pay for items will be excluded from the next three Auctions. The next infraction of non-payment will lead to exclusion from all future Auctions. FBB cards MAY be used when purchasing items. Coupons may NOT be used to purchase auction items.
- Bidders are responsible for applicable sales taxes.
- Additional discounts are not valid on Auction items.
- If you have any questions about the Auction please ask a store cashier for assistance.
